New Zaxis Gels Move to Phase I Marketing With Life Technologies
HUDSON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 21, 1999--Life Technologies Inc. (OTC BB:LTEK) and Zaxis International Inc. (OTC BB:ZAXS) have implemented a marketing program for new high-quality pre-cast polyacrylamide electrophoresis gels, according to a joint announcement by the companies.
This joint program initially includes six GIBCO BRL Precast Protein Gels for use in protein research in academic and industrial institutions. Protein gels are used in more than 55,000 scientific laboratories worldwide. Zaxis developed the gel with technical assistance in product evaluation provided by Life Technologies. Life Technologies can provide extensive distribution channels for the product. The gels are designed to ensure lot-to-lot consistency as a result of Zaxis's proprietary computer-controlled pouring process and will run in major-brand electrophoresis tanks now in common use. Precast protein gels complement the significant product offerings of Life Technologies in the protein research market. Additional products offered by Life Technologies for use in protein research include BENCHMARK(TM) Prestained Protein Ladders, BAC-TO-BAC© and other Baculovirus expression systems, PROEXTM HT Prokaryotic Expression System, BL21-SI Competent Cells, Mini-V 8-10 Vertical Gel Electrophoresis System and the Kodak Digital Science Electrophoresis Documentation and Analysis System 120 (EDAS 120).
