Yeah.. the problem is very apparent. Actually Celeron's suffer a little bit because of their relatively small 128K cache (although they also gain a little bit due to the lower latency over the PII). A 3D-Now! seti on an AMD k6-3 would be relatively fast since most of the data would fit in the l1/l2 of that cpu. The problem is I don't have one <VBG>

Also, based on the above information I would expect a Coppermine to handily beat an Athlon on Seti (clock for clock) due to the higher speed L2. (just as a Xeon should kill a PIII).
