Finally one comment that was interesting in the c.call. It was remarked that SEEQ saw better than 10 mil in revs but only 7.9 or so was recorded with the rest falling into a reserve to align the numbers with LSI's direct sales model vs. the distributor models of SEEQ. I hope no one missed that they did the same thing with Symbios when they acquired Symbios. Voila! This would explain some of my misgivings in Q3 and Q4 of last year! The Symbios division liked did some serious kicking then as well - even more than I had penciled in! BTW note the magnitude of the SEEQ reserve relative to the reported delta. It looks like SEEQ would have gone up 3.5 mil or so but around 2-2.2 mil was held back in the reserve. I doubt if Symbios was done to this extent. But and this is for all the experts who think that minimal is good when doing financial analysis - I reiterate: there is a lot more to the numbers than a superficial glance and simplistic commentary and simplistic analysis. Those same superficial 'analysts' [again excuse me while I laugh] can explain to one and all why LSI in Q4, 1995 tanked when "[t]he only real #s that matter are actual total sales/sequential sales increase, profits/margins, and forward looking sentiments" See: Message 10592360 All '#s' were exceptional then. BTW I know the answer to the tanking and the initial post on this thread sucked badly... Nuff said. I win round 10.... Going to the beach...
