I am curious as to why you have gotten so involved in opposing my original comment about the "liberal press."
Because it is a cliche, which, like all cliches, obfuscates rather than illuminates.
Because it would have sufficed to say "press" or "media."
Because it implies that the "conservative press" would be/is different (i.e., "unprejudiced").
Because it is customarily trotted out, in partisan fashion, by self-described "conservatives," to argue that "their" views are supposedly unrepresented in the press (even when they are actually overrepresented).
Because it is obviously a loaded (not a "purely descriptive") phrase, especially when used as you used it: "the prejudices of the liberal press."
Because it was used in a post to Del, scolding him for being "prejudiced." (Sauce, goose, gander, and all that.)
Because....blah, blah, blah, blah, blah....
& etc. :-)
