George Gonzo Appointed as President
of 3web and Executive V.P. Sales and
Marketing, Cybersurf
CALGARY, Alberta----July 21, 1999--Cybersurf is pleased to announce
the appointment of George Gonzo as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Cybersurf
Corp., and as President of 3web, Canada's only free Internet and Email service.
3web is a subsidiary of Cybersurf Interactive Media, a division of Cybersurf Corp.
Prior to his position with Cybersurf, Mr. Gonzo was Vice President, Local and Regional Sales for
the 25 CTV owned and operated stations across Canada, with primary responsibilities for growing
and achieving non-network revenue targets and profitability. A veteran of almost four decades of
Media and Marketing in Canada, Mr. Gonzo enjoys a reputation within the industry as an
innovator with particular emphasis on new forms of revenue and profitability generation. Mr.
Gonzo has worked with thousands of businesses in many different categories, helping them
develop more cost effective marketing programs to increase profitability.
Mr. Gonzo's primary mandate is to oversee all sales and marketing initiatives for the 3web
Network, with the goal of making 3web the largest provider of Internet and Email services in
Canada. In particular, Mr. Gonzo will proceed with the marketing, distribution and sales strategies
for 3web's fall Toronto launch. 3web's considerable E-commerce potential will also be an area of
focus for Mr. Gonzo in his new role within the company.
Until December of this past year, Mr. Gonzo was the Chair of the Television Bureau of
Advertising, the organization that spearheads industry efforts to grow the two billion-dollar
television private sector advertising industry in Canada.
In 1995, Mr. Gonzo was the first recipient of the Alberta ''Ad Rodeo Achievement Award'' for a
career of accomplishments that have made ''significant contributions to the advertising and
corporate communications community.''
