While we're waiting, somebody explain these ECN's to me. I trade direct with market makers currently, and follow instanet. Do the e-brokers allow order routing through the ECN's? From following level II at times, I just mainly notice the ISLD guys scalping back and forth. Are ECN's the future? Do you have to have a DVP agreement to trade? etc.
