*$1bn New Capital* Looks okay to me. 6m shares for $1bn sounds fair enough and I'm in favour. They can invest that in handset production lines in China and earn a good return. They can build a LOT of production lines for that kind of money. They can do a lot of R&D on MSM5000 developments. They can get that 724 Solutions stuff going quickly. They can build pdQ production lines flat out. they can build more ThinPhone production lines to supply USA/Mexico/Brazil/Canada, heck Australia, Peru and all over.
It won't be in money market funds for very long!
As far as "Wall Street smart", I'm happy to let results speak for themselves. IPO in 1991 at $4.50 split adjusted. All time high yesterday at $167. How about working out a compounded annual %increase? Personally, I don't think that "Wall Street" is all that smart.
That isn't a .com increase on the back of no real results either. Revenue has gone from a few million to $4bn. There are technology opportunities just coming over the horizon to make your jaw drop [WK, 3G, Cinecomm, Globalstar, Eudorasomething].
There aren't any holes in my feet and I bet Dr J can't see any in his either.
$157 a depressed price? Well, I agree it's a bargain [will be when people look back 2 or 3 years from now], but it isn't really depressed in today's context, other than a bit of scuffling around the close as large manouevres took place. The extra 2m shares will have caused a bit of a drop too, but not much in the context.
When Irwin said the fun was just beginning, he wasn't kidding. This is a LOT of fun.
