I hope Hutch responds to some of your posts..his clarity is uncanny
I am assuming that all the other countries right now want the dollar
just where it is..since we are the only economy that seems to be rip roaring..
I think there will be a concerted effort for the countries to try to export themselves into prosperity and make their own citizens purchase at home since Us goods are so expensive abroad..(ie upstate NY is really suffering because the citizens are going across the border to buy and Canadians aren't buying here..)
If Japan recovers, then maybe the dollar will start to weaken as US
money and deep pockets around the world will start pouring into their market and sell our market..our bonds and create a fall in dollar..
I still think rubin and company..Summers now and Greenspan won't mind
..even if it leads to a mini recession..
but I still think there is so much leverage out there by people who think they can walk on water..that there could be another crisis..
