From Smith Barney

SSB recently visited Nikon's Kumagaya plant, where the company makes most of its DUV steppers. In FY99, the facility will produce nearly all of Nikon's DUV steppers, which will account for just over 200 of the 270 steppers the company plans to sell overall (the remainder being I-line models). Next spring, Nikon will begin shipping the recently announced 204B stepper, which offers 40% higher throughput (120 wafers/hour) than the 203B while costing only slightly more (900 million yen vs. 850 million yen for the 203B). However, Nikon could lose market share due to its long lead time (just over a year), to its competitors ASML and Canon.
