They can buy it with cash on hand before the actual inclusion, and wait until the stock is included in S&P, before they start tracking it as a part of index portfolio. Thats what they usualy do.

Where the 6 mln shares will go? I don't know, depends on the market conditions on that particular day. If all the funds have already bought, which I think is the case, it will depend on the demand out there.

At this point they might push the stock down, combined with disappointed sellers, who thought funds will be buying from them tomorrow.
