Fundamental:

Gold exploration has indeed dried up and many mines are closing. It is estimated that nearly half the world's gold mines are unprofitable at current prices.

Does this not sound familiar?

The best gold forcaster I am aware of who has been hugely bearish since 1996 now says the bottom is in and a major gold bull is beginning. Will be slow at first but the main trend is changing from down to up. And considering how hard many gold stocks have been hit (drops of 90% or more from the highs are quite common) and the enormous leverage to higher gold prices -- the upside in some of these issues could rival the internets.
