iSearch Unveils new Applicant Sourcing and Tracking Service

Co-developed with AlliedSignal, Outsourced Service Replaces Client Server Legacy Systems and Integrates Sourcing Support via the Web

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 20, 1999-- To meet the demand by today's corporations to fulfil their strategic imperative to quickly find and hire the best candidates, iSearch today announced its Applicant Sourcing and Tracking Service -- the industry's most powerful, easy to use and technologically advanced set of Internet based tools to improve the sourcing process.

This solution is dramatically transforming the way companies source and recruit employees.

''We've devoted substantial resources to develop a robust set of applicant sourcing and tracking capabilities, building on our already highly successful existing Web based resume management and job posting services and over 4 years of experience -- an Internet lifetime,'' said John Reese, CEO and founder of iSearch, the pioneer of Internet job sourcing and tracking tools. ''Our fast growing list of customers is a testament to our newest offering,'' said Reese.

iSearch streamlines the hiring process by outsourcing all the difficult and time-intensive tasks associated with requisition creation and management, job posting, and response processing. iSearch services provide powerful, easy to use tools to source, process, search, screen, organize, forward and track applicants. The Applicant Sourcing and Tracking Service also automatically collects government mandated EEO information.

Built on a platform in use by over 100 customers, iSearch worked with AlliedSignal, Inc. to co-develop its newest Applicant Sourcing and Tracking features. ''Our staff will continue to concentrate on attracting and hiring the best possible people to build AlliedSignal's future, while iSearch will focus on maintaining and supporting the company-wide applicant tracking service,'' said Dennis Zeleney, AlliedSignal's senior vice president of human resources when the project was conceived. Zeleney described partnering with iSearch as ''a good business decision.''

Some of the growing list of customers that selected iSearch's new Applicant Sourcing and Tracking service includes Avnet, Inc., BellSouth, eBay, Creative Labs, Excel Communications, Farmers Insurance, Merck, Sears, and Sylvan Learning Centers. Each of these companies receives thousands of resumes per month, either unsolicited or in answer to advertised jobs. Resumes arrive by regular mail, email, fax and a rapidly growing number of Web submissions using iSearch's patent pending iPost technology. iSearch customers also use the system to fill positions with internal candidates and job seekers without resumes. All are processed by iSearch.

Thanks to iSearch, the process between the HR recruiter and the hiring manager is streamlined. ''The Internet has allowed us to make communication between recruiters and hiring managers more efficient,'' Reese said. ''It enables a redistribution of responsibilities that can be driven by the customer when needed. For example, hiring mangers can create their own requisitions online, and, when approved by HR, can be used to automatically generate job listings. Recruiters view progress of individual searches throughout the process, all via the Internet. This shortens the hiring cycle significantly, leading to increased productivity for mission critical work.'' The system is flexible enough to support the business rules of the client organization, and iSearch's system can support tens of thousands of simultaneous users.

As with all iSearch services, this new outsourced service is Internet based. iSearch takes care of all input processing (paper and electronic), hardware, software, upgrades, and maintenance. iSearch even handles the tedious tasks of duplicate screening and merging, extraction of ''positions applied for,'' and acknowledgments. Customers simply need to provide their users with Internet access and a standard web browser. iSearch maintains and manages everything.

Among the numerous features incorporated into this iSearch service are highly detailed forms, tracking capabilities and customizable fields to fully support a client's existing business process.

iSearch services improve the flow of resumes and are a powerful sourcing tool for more qualified job seekers to apply to open positions. iSearch's Applicant Sourcing and Tracking Service is built on the company's core resume capture and processing technology, including the extremely valuable ability to rank sourced resumes for fit to job openings. Using its proprietary natural language processing technology, iSearch provides data extraction that increases the ability of a user to identify the prospects best suited for the job. Recruiters can progressively tighten criteria, narrowing down to resumes of true best-fit candidates. Unlike most other systems that rely on full text searches, iSearch uses natural language processing technology to extract an average of 40 fields of useful information to create its searchable structured databases. Using iSearch, job seekers visiting company Web sites paste in their resume in just seconds. ''Our computers scan the document, find relevant data, and return the information to the job seeker for verification almost instantaneously. Once their resume has been processed, job seekers can reuse the resume to apply for as many open positions online as desired.''

iSearch Services have been selected and deployed by over one hundred corporations and leading Career Centers. These include CareerPath.com, where iSearch is used to manage a career center resume database of well over 600,000 job seekers. ''We designed all our iSearch Services to build upon their precursors and to serve as a platform for further releases and product offerings. Our new Applicant Sourcing and Tracking Service is a major milestone in this continuum of offerings,'' said Reese.
