JR,
MetaFrame sales increasing 3%(Q over Q?? / Sequentially??). Someone picked up something I did not. If accurate, no analyst in the CC questioned this. You would think they would have if it's accurate or was stated.

I see that CBS.Marketwatch is your, "news," source. The CBS blurb used the word, "investors," are troubled.... To tell you the truth, the CC was so confusing (as usual), I don't see how an, "investor" could figure out something like this.

CTXS did a breakdown in revenues as follows:
WinFrame 2%
MetaFrame 42%
Options 40%
OEM 2%
Service 3%
MSFT 11%

I don't recall them doing the breakdown for 99Q1's CC. So I'm not exactly sure how a comparison was done against 99Q1? I did not listen to 98Q2's CC, but If they did a year over year comparison, I would find the 3% figure hard to figure considering the growth rate overall. But I'm just speculating here. I don't have any facts handy.

Now to make matters super confusing CTXS decided to change the breakdown categories. I believe(?) this will start next quarter. It's going to be broken down into four categories:
Windows Application Servers
Internet Servers
Computer Applicance
Platform Management Services

Now to be honest, no analyst understood what the heck went into what category. It was TOTALLY confusing, and I believe a surprise to most listeners. They did say the Internet Servers was negligible now, and Computer Appliances isn't much because they give away clients. So who knows why they are doing this. I think they may have stated why, but I got lost.

They also stated something I thought was fairly significant. Here's another breakdown they gave. I don't know exactly what it means(people, $, companies?), but it was said two times:
New Customers 50%
Existing Customers 50%

So in summary, I think there was mass confusion about the figures during the CC. And frankly, I can understand why. It's a real strain to listen to the CCs. I only threw out half the breakdowns above. I couldn't even follow the rest of where the revenues were generated and under what categories and what products.

But I'm fairly certain they understand, among themselves, exactly what they are doing. All of them could not have rehearsed the techno babble they spouted. Each in a different way, but all saying the same thing. Maybe this is the first time, their normally confusing manner actually caused some stock volatility.

In a way it's good. Finally they must be drawing the attention of analysts/managers/private investors who are actually attempting to listen<VBG>.

PS Oh I forgot to mention, right at the opening of their CC, they quoted some saying about, "Execution being the proof that rises above all things...." Something like that? Citrix and their ability to, "execute," is something that can't be argued with. I thought it was fitting to say this before they lost me in the details of the CC (I hope I didn't mix this up with another CC).
