AOL and AMZN dominating Instinet trading this morning (Amanda Grove CNBC). While AOL is trading UNCH; AMZN trading down 5. What does this say for the 2:1 split of AMZN. If AOL announces a split, as some of us would like it to be, then would it not cause the stock to trade low. Or will it trade higher and why?

I see there are a lot of "so called analysts" and "commentators" going on the tube and coming across over the wires and contemplating why AOL could face problems in the future. There is the broadband issue that keeps rearing its head frequently, now there is a new issue popping up called "free Internet access" etc. etc. Reminds me of the Gulf war days when we had the so called "military experts" that went on TV and painted all sorts of scenarios on how the allied forces would move into Iraq. And you know what, they were all proved wrong. And you know why. Because these so called "military analysts" were armchair analysts. They were far removed from reality or they had lost touch with military science. While Saddam and his generals sat watching these experts on CNN, Gen. S'kof and his generals were planning on how to win the war.

I see a similar situation here. We have all sorts of people in the media analyzing the AOL situation while Gen. Case and his men are chomping away and coming out with good numbers, a concrete proof that their strategy is working. And what is even more amazing is that we are paying these "analyst" and letting them come in and rule our investing.

Folks AOL is on a sure and steady rise and it is the Intel/Cisco/Microsoft of the Internet.
