Welcome back in the pool!....S&P looks a little weak this morning....I think concerns over what Greenspan might say are a bit over-hyped....the concerns about China and Japan are underdone....the US businesses are doing quite well....the momentum players have taken quite a few of the larger stocks up in anticipation of the earnings and are selling just before the reports and moving on to the next issue....the difference in business models for the internets are beginning to show and the best models will show growth about in line with projections, the others will show their truer colors and the market will be as swift to leave them as it was to take them to those impossible multiples....on balance, productivity gains will still continue to mediate inflationary pressures and the cheaper pools of world labor will continue to be tapped by US Corporations because the internet commerce and global economy will not allow wage and commodity price pressures to be passed on through increasing prices....I think a lot of money has been leaving the US equity markets (accounting for the lower volumes) in search of more exotic world investments but if China and Japan show that their recovery is more fantasy than fact, that money may come rushing back and might provide the momentum for the blow-off top that so many appear to be predicting....JMHO
