RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., July 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Recorders,
Inc., (Nasdaq: TBUS) today announced completion of an order for 275 buses in
Ankara, Turkey, and the delivery of pilot production run buses in Hanover,
Germany, for use in the Year 2000 World Exposition.
Both orders are for the TwinVision(R) LeDot destination sign systems from
DRI's Transit Media GmbH division located in Ettlingen, Germany.
The Hanover order involves a total of 100 buses. Half will be delivered in
1999 and the other 50 will be delivered in 2000.
"The Ankara order firmly establishes our company as a major player in
Turkey, which represents a potential for over $2 million in business a
year," said David L. Turney, DRI Chairman and CEO. "The Hanover order means
that our systems will be showcased on the new state-of-the-art buses that

Orders Totaling $7 million

announced delivery of pilot and initial production quantities of both exterior and interior sign and message systems for the
Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (''SEPTA'') and the San Francisco Municipal transit systems. These
orders represent more than $7 million in revenues for the company.

The SEPTA order encompasses over $2.0 million to be delivered in the second half of 1999. The San Francisco order includes
approximately $5 million to be delivered in 1999 and beyond. These transit bus vehicles will be equipped with both the
