Off topic -- Kennedy stuff...

My mother taught us that anything we receive and did not earn would do us no good at best and much harm at worst. As a child, I never questioned what she said. As a young adult, I often wondered how much stuff my parents taught me was useless, and I began questioning everything. Through time, I discovered my parents knew what they were talking about, even though, at times, I wished otherwise.

They're both gone now (my parents), but their lessons get reinforced daily. Your post points out how the Kennedy wealth brought tears as well as luxury.

I don't know the facts about these people. In fact, I didn't even know they existed until this weekend. I've heard about President Kennedy, but beyond his response to the missiles in Cuba, his Moon ambitions, and being killed in Texas, I know nothing else of him or his family.

I do know the pain of losing loved ones. I know the value of privacy in the healing process. I also know how inappropriately intrusive the media can be. If the viewers and readers choose to shun the news of these events, they would no longer be covered. We, the public, share the guilt of needlessly increasing the suffering of these families at their darkest hour.

As for the idiots who line the sidewalk in front of the 'castle': Get a life!

Cheerios, PW.
