Hi George,
I think the REITs are near a trading bottom again, as many of the leaders aren't cracking and many of the medical REITs are convincing investors that PPS isn't going to completely wipe out the nursing homes. NHP's conference call was quite reassuring as they seem very confident that if any nursing home operator goes bankrupt, they will still want to stay in the leases.
I'm not aware of Blackstones reputation, so I can't offer a useful opinion on the deal with MAA.
AIV had another stellar FFO growth reported this AM.
AIC had a dynamite earnings release this AM. One curious thing though, was the increase from $260 to $290 per lot with the addition of only one more community, despite a reported 3% or so increase in revenues on same stores. I need to get an explanation of that.
