lobal Media Expands its North American Media Presence in the Opening of Four New Strategic Business City Locations
NANAIMO, BC, July 22 /CNW-PRN/ - Global Media Corp. (OTC BB:GLMC) (http://www.globalmedia.com) announces today, the establishment of business operations in Vancouver, Seattle, Los Angeles and New York City.
Vancouver will house the company's new corporate head office and production facility, while mergers and acquisitions will be centered in Seattle. Global Media VP for Corporate Affairs, Monte Walls Burris, moves to New York to establish a media sales office and to further establish a full-time Wall Street presence. Barr Potter, a Global Media company Director, will be sourcing entertainment content in Los Angeles. Potter headed Largo Entertainment, a diversified film finance and international sales/marketing company, participating in the finance and foreign sales of more than two dozen motion pictures. Prior to heading up Largo, Potter worked with Time Life Home video and Thorn Emi Screen Entertainment.
''All this activity is the result of the significant growth our company is enjoying as word of our unique combination of Internet broadcasting and e-commerce spreads,'' said Global Media CEO, Rob Fuller, from the company's current head office in Nanaimo, British Columbia. The Nanaimo location is being converted to Global's call and customer service center.
''Instead of handing over customers to large e-commerce sites, Global Media Broadcasting Network Associates, primarily broadcasters and entertainment retailers, meet their audience's entertainment product needs from their own websites, while Global's transactional-database of a million-plus music, book, video and magazine titles fills orders in the background. Global Media's fully-functional e-commerce support runs from supplying multimedia entertainment content through to secure online order processing, delivery and customer service,'' said Walls Burris. Global has signed a long-term lease and will be the sole tenant at 400 Robson Street, in the heart of Vancouver's upscale shopping, entertainment and business district.
''This new 13,000 sq. ft. facility gives us the room we need to expand beyond the 60 employees we now have, as we respond to increased customer demand,'' said Fuller.
The company's merger and acquisitions department, in Seattle, places Global Media closer to two of its strategic partners, RealNetworks and Exodus Communications Inc.
''Seattle is also home to many leading Internet innovators and Global will be joining those companies in reshaping the Internet into a profitable entertainment medium,'' said Walls Burris.
