incubus and sucubus are a latin translaion of devil from greek or hebrew I believe. I have been known to be wrong. Incubus because for whatever reason Christian fallen angels or demons seem to always be male... go figure. I don't quite get that myself, but I think it reflects that human women are supposed to be able to be impregnated while sucubi are infertile, and since pagan ritual always seems to have devils impregnating women there must only be incubi... something dumb like that.
