"The Emissary 1000 product line provides bi-directional performance on a single wavelength on a single fiber. Spans of up to 500 km are possiblebefore remodulation of the signal, and the system allows or simple add/drop of any and all signals along the span."

I'd be interested in knowing which optical windows they're using on the same fiber. Also, if they really mean 'remodulation,' or do they really mean 'regeneration,' in a way similar to an erbium-doped fiber form of optical amplification?

Each of these possibilities has its own criteria:

If it's a form of field level 'remod' they would have to make that too. Do they? If it's remodulation using their own SRSC principle, they would have to.

OTOH, if it's straightforward EDFI amplification, then they go off the shelf if they are operating within the windows afforded for same.

Who is their beta customer, assuming one exists? Is it a University? Thanks for posting the PR.
