Thanks for the link. That was very interesting. On a similar note I heard on the radio the other morning that some chemical company(I cannot remember the name), that owned huge amounts of bandwidth(fiber optic lines), was going to be selling some of that bandwidth to all comers. It seems that some brightboy at this company noticed that this company had huge capacity that was not utilized all the time so they are working on a way to quantify this bandwidth into marketable units of capacity. It will be the newest commodity and will be purchased on the commodities market. This sounds like the dark fiber referred to in your post. Sorry I don't have more of the details but I was driving and concentrating on my Starbucks latte and my cell phone.
