Qualcomm just lost their contract with canadian based ClearNet because their cell phones kept breaking down. Mine broke down 5 times since Feb/99. I just picked up the Nokia from the same company, clearNet, and they let me keep the Qualcomm cell. They confirmed it was crap and told me to trash it. I feel like shorting Qualcomm now. I think they will go bankrupt making sub-par products.

ClearNet has 2 Qualcomm phones at their web site (www.clearnet.com), the 2700 and the 1960. I just called ClearNet (Toronto 416-279-9000) and asked the rep if they have stopped selling QCOM phones. As far as she knows, they are still selling them. She checked with her supervisor -- same story. I asked if they have had problems with the QCOM phones and she said they have not. She also said that prior to June 1st/99 they did not sell QCOM phones. They just started selling one of the models June 1st and the other in mid June.

Could you explain how you got a QCOM phone from ClearNet back in Feb/99? Could you also cite a source for your information? Thanks.
