<IBM CFO Sees No Signs Yet Of Y2K Slowdown>

I hope he's right but even Seagate's Luczo made several comments in the last CC concerning his uncertainty about the effect of Y2K on the last half of the year. This is the first public mention about Y2K for them.

I'm still worried about the general market perception about what will happen. Again, I feel reactions will be based on perception versus reality once the media hits the issue full throttle.

Iomega in their CC stated they will play on the "perception" of Y2K issues to promote ZIP as a backup for the loss of data. Again, that's not a real issue, but they indirectly will play to the uncertainty on the part of unknowledgable consumers.

I think we'll know which way the wind really blows in late September, early October.

Regards,
LT
