To test out your theory, I just hopped in on GML (down 7.5 to 20 3/4). It's not the greatest percentage loser, but seemed like decent fundamentals at first glance (I've never followed them). Their stock was halted for over an hour today, finally a news release was issued saying, in effect, earnings would be around .30 instead of est. .37. Obviously not good, but seems ripe for a modest bounce. I definitely like your idea of buying on the day of the bad news, we'll see how it goes.
