Not trying to regulate anything. Only suggesting that SI has a great model for focusing literally thousands of different topics and lines of discussion: the thread. The thread model allows users to find and join in on conversations of interest, or to avoid them. My previous post was an appeal for posters to show some self-discipline and work with rather than against a successful community model.

Even if I was ideologically in synch with the wave of OT posts this last month, I would still say the OT posters should find or create another thread to fully explore the new topic. Not that they leave *this* thread, but that they post stuff generally about A on the A thread and stuff generally about B on the B thread, etc. Otherwise, why not just one monolithic thread called "Thread"?
