There was an article listed in Reuters Health today which referred to saliva HIV-1 test results coming up negative when in fact the blood test result was positive. While it is beneficial to have as many testing methods out their as possible, at the moment it would seem that the saliva test has a long way to go before it could be approved for use in the US. Why mention this? It is a competing test to Chemtrak's AWARE test. See the article at reutershealth.com Bill
