I used to get the small town paper from where my hunting club was located. Ads, births, deaths, who hit a deer, arrests for drunk driving.

In '92 the water table came up and flooded much of the county. That had happened 70 years before and a lake on the edge of town was created. A black man traveling through with the circus, left the circus and set up a bait store on the lake. Later on it dried up and has been farmed since.

The headline in June of '92 was "Nigger Lake is back". The next week they had an article about Negro Lake. If you go to Havana now, you will see Sand Lake.
