Actually I'm worried about the US consumer.I think housing is beginning a down cycle and am afraid autos may follow, neither because of a lack of confidence but rather due to demand satiation. If I'm not mistaken housing has been growing much more than the population in recent years and that is just not sustainable. I think the fed knows this and this is their biggest worry. what scares them is a weakness in these key areas accompanied by a severe market sell off. They want the market lower now to avoid a double whammy later. They know as well as we that inflation is dead and the challenge is how to keep the economy alive.
