Al Kelly, Pres. of AMEX Credit Card Systems, didn't take me up on my dare or even mention ebill or epay. He emphasized their 150-year old brand and no bricks-and-mortar. He said there was no need to use their travel offices for banking as people were happy to bank on the net. He said sure they will compete with the same banks they try to sell trav. checks and credit cards to, just like their card already competes with bank's Visa and MasterCharge cards. Slightly OT: when you hear their story, you wish "powered by Checkfree" was a visible thing so that CKFR had a trusted brand image, too.
