I haven't seen any news lately either; Gatefield stock has been very weak since the reverse 1 for 10 stock split and it is now down to $5 which is a drop of about $1.50 from where it was before the split. I think we are going to have to have some patience as it is probably going to take awhile before we get some positive news. Actel did seem very positive on the new Gatefield designed ProASIC devices in their press release on 5/26/99 when they announced they were making a $8,000,000 loan to Gatefield that could be converted into 420,000 shares of Gatefield stock over the next 5 years. Looks like Gatefield would have to rise to over $20 a share to make that conversion attractive to Actel. I'm not sure why Actel doesn't buy Gatefield unless they are hoping they will default on their loan and Actel can pick them up for next to nothing as the $8,000,000 is secured by all of Gatefield's assets. It could get interesting though if the new ProASIC FPGA's do well and another company like a Altera, Lattice, Lucent, Siemens, or Xilinx becomes interested in Gatefield.
