Sun is hardware company. If four of Java's creators feel they can be successful as independant Java developers, this speaks well for Sun. If Java is successful, there is less need for Wintel, and more need for Java process and therefore Sun. Don't think these four programmers will dump Sun. What's good for Marimba is good for Sun and vice versa. This move should not negatively affect Sun's future.
