She made Toll House cookies yesterday, and some kind of peppered vegetable sandwiches. Now she's making fresh pesto. Really, if you want to have a good summer, no a great summer, just let MJ go to the farmers markets. Like last Saturday, she made me go to a new one in Portland. She then made a pasta with Italian flat leaf parsley. And a tart salad of fennel, fava, and some other stuff I forget. Today she picked four big buckets full of blueberries. (Cost 4.62. Half pint in Safeway: 2.09.} She gets all excited. About cooking. It's amazing. Another thing you can do is take her to antique stores, to look for cool bowls and dishes and stuff to serve stuff on. That gets her going. Then she'll make something to put on the plate. Wow. I just bought a dark green plate from the twenties or thirties with some deco ballet dancers on it. Hmmmmmm. Yah. Farmers market. Little villages of markets. Oooohh. All the way, home, the computer in her mind there is working....
