FWIW, I think all this "mr insider" "mr outsider" stuff is missing the point. MC is neither of these things and clearly the best of both worlds. He is not DEC or Tandem management, he is not Compaq "classic", he has none of these past affiliation. Until just very recently, he WAS the new guy, the outsider in the management ranks. He has had the benefit of coming in at the end of the EP rein and observing, as an outsider, on the inside.

I think it's great that all these talking heads are wondering whether he's the right choice, it means there might still be a few days at bargain basement prices before the stock starts appreciating.
