AERT Sets $4.9 Million Gross Sales Record for Second Quarter
June 1999 Sales Exceed $2 million
SPRINGDALE, Ark. July 21, 1999 Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:AERTA) announced today that the unaudited second quarter 1999 gross sales of $4,933,758 set an all-time sales record.

It also represented a $2,072,396 or 72% increase over the comparable quarter in 1998. The Company also set a monthly sales record in June of $2,045,171, a 25% increase over the previous monthly record set in March 1999.

Joe G. Brooks, Chairman, stated, "The Company has continued to increase production from its existing facilities while completing construction on new capacity at its Springdale plant. With the pending completion and start-up of a third composite extrusion line in Springdale, the Company will have a significant increase in capacity available to satisfy the growing demand for product."

Additional information will be discussed at the Company's annual meeting scheduled for Friday, July 23 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holiday Inn in Springdale, Ark. All shareholders are encouraged to attend.
