What about games? What about wanting really realistic looking multimedia? I don't just mean herky-jerky, sort-of-OK multimedia, but sensation that you can swim in. Something that changes the whole basis of having a computer --- it's not just a calculator/word-processor -- now it's a way of getting your mind blown. To many people, that's not frivolous. That's a core reason for buying and maintaining something as expensive as a computer -- at least in many peoples' minds. It could be for me -- if a computer could offer that. And maybe rambus technology makes that closer.
