Some future competition for Hyperchannel:
Intel Partners With SpaceWorks For E-Business Apps
Taking aim at the market for online business applications, Intel this week unveiled a partnership with e-commerce software vendor SpaceWorks Inc., under which the two companies will co-develop business-to-business and sales-to-order applications, as well as software to improve e-commerce systems between direct and indirect sales channels.
The partnership is another example of Intel's push into the e- commerce market. Last week, the company announced the formation of the Communications Products Group, which will focus primarily on Internet-related business--including servers, network infrastructure, and services.
With this deal and others, Intel is "assembling an investment portfolio along the lines of a venture-capital organization," said David Alschuler, an analyst with the Aberdeen Group. -- Ashlee Vance, InformationWeek
