Stephen: "Why aren't there more of these marvellous ERC fuel cells in operation?" Just wait. They will be. The company is talking with various early stage customers now. I think we will see something about that well before year end. "Are there any in vehicles after 12 years of research.?" More like 20 years of research, and no, because they are intended for stationary power, not cars. The advantages of fc's (all kinds, but especially high temp ones) over conventional technology in stationary power is great, and much less so, if at all, for automotive applications.
