CET Environmental Services, Inc. Awarded $16.8 Million Contract for Hercules Development Project

Project Involves Remediation and Development of 100 Acres

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- CET Environmental Services, Inc. (Amex: ENV) has been issued a $16.8 million contract for Brownfields development activities at a former explosives manufacturing site in Hercules, California. CET will perform remediation of explosives-impacted soil, wetlands restoration, mass grading, and main infrastructure development. The project involves development of 100 acres of the Hercules Chemical Old California Powder Works, which manufactured TNT, dynamite, and nitroglycerine. Remediation Financial, Inc. /LCRI Investments, LLC (Phoenix, AZ) plans to redevelop the bay-front site into residential and retail properties.

Steve Davis, President and CEO of CET Environmental Services said, "This is an exciting project for CET and the landowners, not just because of the large scope, but also the future potential for this site. We will begin engineering studies immediately, with onsite activities to follow shortly."

Douglas W. Cotton, Chief Operating Officer, said, "It is a prime piece of property that hasn't realized its full potential because of the environmental issues. CET's and RFI's expertise in the redevelopment of Brownfields is ideally suited for this project."

CET previously worked with RFI to receive site closure of a 25-acre auto shredding facility in Chandler, Arizona, that was impacted with auto shredder fluff, metals, and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). RFI redeveloped the site into Southeast Valley Automall, a commercial property with restaurants, a hotel, and a retail auto dealer.

CET conducts business in three primary areas: government programs, industrial services, and water/wastewater treatment. The Company provides a broad range of expertise in technology-based environmental services for both the public and private sectors throughout the United States.
