Collectible coins, silver-based in particular continue to do OK; gold coins are 5~15% premium over bullion. Anyhoo, philately has fallen out-of-favour and folks wonder if the hobby has become moribund. Probably a great time to get your grand-kids interested. There are numerous resources available on the WWWeb. The central site is scottonline.com - they make the most popular stamp catalogues and albums and showgard 902 tongs an' stuff. They also have a monthly 'zine, along with Linn's Stamp News. I have this urge to buy more 19th-century superbs, and no - you can't have my Zeppelin air-mails but, I'll swap you something nice for pre-1920 european colonies' issues (^_^)

If folks are willing to hold their positions -- bull or bear -- over the weekend, I believe it says a lot about the market perceptions.
