I think that earnings may be my only hope of a little stock price recovery from the Qwest shortfalls of late.

My buddy went to Chicago last week for the Qwest meeting (for employees to discuss the USWest merger and other new business). It was indicated that they will begin billing based on usage (similar to a utility company) as opposed to time increment billing. It was also indicated that Qwest will be able to offer data services at a pricing structure that AT&T, Sprint, and Worldcom could not even come close to while Qwest will still be able to make a tidy profit at those rates.

My buddy is an investor as well and is VERY bullish on the outlook for Qwest longterm.

Although I have not been vocal on this thread lately I have been a long term investor in Qwest....buying on all dips....never sold a share. I continue to buy shares and I continue my bullish outlook on Qwest/Qwest management and I respect their business plan.

Time will reward those who can get through these thin times.
