From Zona Research:

As the base of thin clients grows, it is paramount that IT administrators be able to efficiently manage a large base of thin clients across the enterprise. Thin clients remove nearly all client administrative tasks from the desktop. However, the tasks do not magically disappear. Rather, they are relocated at a central server. NCD's ThinPATH Manager allows its Windows CE 2.0 devices and their accessible applications to be monitored and managed in a hands-free way. We believe NCD's Wake-on-LAN support (a result of its close relationship with Intel) is a thin client industry first. This capability, allowing NCD's Windows CE-based terminals to be remotely powered up for administering during off-hours, may well become a fundamental thin client requirement. In addition, NCD may be able to exploit its adherence to Wired for Management (WfM) standards to include support for additional clients, both fat and thin. Strategically, we believe this is an important announcement for NCD. The ThinPATH Manager software enhances NCD's position as a supplier of end-to-end thin client/server solutions, a position we expect the company to increasingly focus on.
