You click on the link to the newsgroup and your email program is called up and it immediately fills up with headers. When you click on a particular header it downloads and displays that message as an email. With that email downloaded you can highlight the header and "respond to group", which is what I did. It all seemed so automatic I figured it worked but didn't see my post in the list of headers. These newsgroups are GREAT for info. Usually there's a bunch of people with the same problem as you and then a smart individual or two with the answer. You can also use your mail program's search tools to find key words in text, headers, etc... Slightly related, I recently noticed that in ie under "edit" there is a "Find (on this page)" selection that lets you do a text search on web pages. Can be very helpful.
