yup. Outlook express asks you if you want to subscribe and you check the box.

yup. You click on the link to the newsgroup and your email program is called up and it immediately fills up with headers. When you click on a particular header it downloads and displays that message as an email.

With that email downloaded you can highlight the header and "respond to group", which is what I did. It all seemed so automatic I figured it worked but didn't see my post in the list of headers.

These newsgroups are GREAT for info. Usually there's a bunch of people with the same problem as you and then a smart individual or two with the answer. You can also use your mail program's search tools to find key words in text, headers, etc...

Slightly related, I recently noticed that in ie under "edit" there is a "Find (on this page)" selection that lets you do a text search on web pages. Can be very helpful.
