RE: Now what do ya suppose would have happened if AV would have been IPOed?

I think Rod Schrock and other CPQ and former DEC execs who jumped onto AV would have made millions personally. the impact to CPQ or its shareholders would have been minimal.

The arrangement with CMGI builds key capabilities for CPQ. Since we don't know all of the side deals which undoubtedly accompanied the purchase we don't know everything that will come out of the deal, but it seems likely to me that the CMGI deal will eventually be a much better benefit to CPQ and its shareholders than an IPO would have been.

I could never see how I could benefit by an AV IPO unless they gave shareholders some AV stock with the IPO... which was unlikely.
