Gosh- I don't hear it from the educated . I think many of these jokes trickle up. My husband hears them at work from machinists (who are extremely intelligent but not highly educated)- of course that is merely a sample of one.

Of course it depends how you define educated. Lots of folks who went to even the best colleges are idiots (imo of course) and yet they consider themselves educated. But they are really snobs from good schools who are marginally educated. The best education is obtained by life long elective study of as much as possible (imo)- but how many people are there who've done this? Not enough to support many jokes I fear - so SOMEONE else out there must be laughing at 'em too. I don't suppose the "educated" would be easy to categorize and I am surprised at you for such careless generalizing.
