Jump to first matched term
OAKLAND, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 22, 1999--Crescent Systems, L.L.C., a provider of comprehensive electronic bill payment services, announced today that it has reached an agreement with GTE Media Ventures Incorporated to provide automatic electronic bill payment services to GTE americast's more than 104,000 customers in its Oahu, Hawaii, Clearwater, Florida, and Ventura County, California, systems.

Crescent Systems will use its Accounts Receivable Collection eXchange(C) (ARCX) System to provide electronic bill payments for GTE americast customers. In addition to electronic payment services, Crescent also is providing project management, data entry, and toll-free telephone customer service for GTE's customers' bill payment questions.

"Crescent Systems provides turn-key remittance processing services including the computer programming required to establish the electronic data interchange between the cable system, the billing provider and financial institutions," said Vernon R. "Russ" Zink, Crescent's president and chief executive officer. "The ARCX System is an accurate and flexible payment processing alternative to paper-based payment processing services.

"GTE americast's Pay Direct automatic and pay-by-phone service is an example of how companies can use Crescent Systems' services to automatically receive payments from customers," Zink added. "The service improves company cash flow management and reduces paper payment handling costs."

Crescent Systems offers electronic bill payment services including automatic withdrawal, pay-by-telephone and pay-by-Internet. It markets these services to businesses with recurring billing requirements, including cable television, telecommunications, utility, financial and Internet service providers.
