Or, on the flip side, is the term "earnings" incorrect? Could the individual have meant "revenues" which, as folks well know, do not necessarily translate to "earnings", "cash flow", or "profits". Just not enough hard data to assess appropriate value of such an abstract comment. Needs the context of more supporting information.
By the way, ...seen any full disclosure, financial numbers for the first two quarters of 1999, or ....for that matter, 1998? This is late July, isn't it? Sure baffles me as to why they apparently choose to "spit" on the hands that fed them.
