I am wrestling with the question of whether G doesn't like to see people gertting rich or whether he is trying to just cool the market down.

I believe that he really doesn't understand much about the technology or its effect. He's not alone in that, many people aren't particularly enthusiastic about technology. On this thread and indeed on SI in general most of are tech junkies. I am over 50 years old and I've been a tech junkie since I was about eight. I'm getting worse.

I happen to believe that the tech innovations we will get in the next five years will be far more than those of the previous fifteen or twenty years and their effect on the economy pro-rate greater.

I believe that there will be more patents filed in the next five years than in the previous lets say ten years and that will ensure a speeding up of teh impact of technological improvement to the economy and our every day lives.

Mr G has said that he cannot believe that the accleration in the rate of improvement in efficiency in the economy that is generated from technological innovation can continue, and that logic dictates that it must slow down.

Why must it slow down? Because it is logical that it cannot improve for ever. That is what he says. I do not subscribe to that premise and with the rate of patent filing I think it is not a very well informed statement to make or view to hold.

IE I don't think Mr G is as bright in the modern context as many people seem to think that he is. In fact I happen to think that he hasn't any better idea of why the economy is generating much of its low inflation growth than the average well informed SI member.

Best regards,

L
