Hi, Cheryl and everyone.

I want to thank the person who posted the information about the Coleman battery-operated table lamp, since I was not smart enough to realize that there were such things <g>. I'm sorry that I don't remember whose post it was.

Today I bought 2 of them at a local Target-type store for $9.99 each. The model number is 5370. Each lamp takes 4 D batteries. There was a larger version, but, frankly, if there are extended power outages, I don't want a lot of light in my house, so these are just perfect.

Thanks to everyone posting such interesting, useful information of this type. This board has been an excellent source of information for my personal Y2K-preparedness checklist.

Vermont Castings (premier manufacturer of wood stoves here in the Northeast) told me several weeks ago that they can no longer fill orders for the "basic black" wood stoves for fall installation because of Y2K demand, and that only a few models of the "designer enamel" stoves (red, blue, and green) remained. They are taking back orders for the stoves but cannot guarantee delivery by the end of the year.

Thanks again for the terrific flow of articles, links, information and ideas, everyone! Please keep it coming!
