There is no doubt the Novell troops want badly to win.

And look how Schmidt changes the whole ballgame. The troops want to be led to victory. This is a terrific software guy at a software company. People at the conference were ecstatic. Great!

But we still have the hand reaching up from the grave. I'm sorry to have to say this repeatedly but the BOD screwed up royally for the last many years. THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE for what has happened to the company. THey have to take that responsibility. We cannot have the same BOD that brought this company to its knees holding back the march forward.

The proper thing for Young to do is retire and resign. The sequence is to bring in the new chairman's BOD appointees, have Young retire, and then have the rest of the BOD replaced by the next generation of computer people from the successful ranks of people like Jim Clarke. I cannot see the purpose of having an intellectual property lawyer associated with Noorda on the BOD.
